Robert Venosa was one of the illuminating forces and leading iconic figures of fantastic and visionary art.
His work has been exhibited worldwide and is represented in major collections.
In addition to painting, he also created film design (pre-sketches and conceptual design for the movie ‘DUNE’, ‘Fire in the Sky’, et al..
He also created a visual impact with his album covers for SANTANA (logo), ORNETTE COLEMAN, KITARO, and CYNIC.
Throughout his life, Robert also taught painting workshops, together with his wife, the artist Martina Hoffmann, at Esalen and Omega in the USA and internationally and spoke on behalf of visionary art and culture at numerous conferences.
Venosa was closely associated with the great masters of Fantastic Realism and Surrealism, Salvador Dali, HR Giger, Mati Klarwein, and Ernst Fuchs.
His work has been the subject of three books, including ‘Illuminatus’ featuring text by Terrence Mc Kenna.
He lived and worked in Cadaques, Spain, and Boulder, CO.
